School of Foreign Languages Speeds up the Progress in Internationalized Teaching

In order to make an active response to the internationalized education in NPU, School of Foreign Languages with its own advantage in language communication carries out the extensive cooperation and exchanges with the high level universities and research institutions around the world.

Since 2009, School of Foreign Languages started the cooperation and the exchange program with Karlstad University in Sweden. Prof. Zhang Yi, as the directress of Chinese side, applied successfully for an international program (Linnaeus-Plam). Till now around 20 high level faculties and 20 English major students have been sent to Karlstad University for the co-teaching and co-training in the program.

On October 8, 2014, Prof. Solveig Granath, the program directress of Swedish side and Mr. Johan Wijkmark, the head of the department of foreign languages in Karlstad University paid a visit to School of Foreign Languages in NPU. Both sides had a discussion on the later cooperation and exchange programs among the faculties and students. Eventually they achieved an agreement on the joint-training for PhD students between Karlstad University and School of Foreign Languages in NPU, which meant the first realization of PhD students studying in a foreign university and which also laid a form foundation for the declaration of doctoral degree in foreign language discipline.
