From December 5 to 7, the 7th International Doctoral Forum and Young Teachers Development Seminar were held on International Conference Center in NPU.
The forum was initially organized by Ministry of Education and its predecessor was "Beijing-Hong Kong International Doctoral Forum", which was undertaken in turn by Tsinghua University and Chinese University of Hong Kong. The purpose of forum is aiming at providing an international exchange platform for the doctoral students and the young scholars in information subjects to enhance the research level and to promote the academic cooperation. Until now six sessions of such forum have been successfully held.
Co-hosted by NPU, Tsinghua University, Chinese University of Hong Kong and undertaken by NPU at the same time, the 7th International Doctoral Forum attracted more than 150 participants and meanwhile caused the wide attention and support from many famous IT companies, such as Microsoft, Baidu, Dolby and so on.
On the Forum Mr. Zhang Jun, with a warm welcome to the guests on behalf of UNP, pointed out that the Forum offered an intercollegiate platform for mutual exchanging and learning among the students with master and doctoral degrees, which would promote their scientific research level and hopefully would deepen and strengthen the intercollegiate exchanges in the future. At last he wished a success for the forum.
It is reported that many issues such as multimedia, Big Data, network and data mining were discussed and more than 60 high-level papers were submitted on the forum. In addition, many other forms of discussions such as young teachers development seminar, conference guest reports, academic papers and school culture visit also enriched this forum. It is said that the forum promoted the communication between graduate students and young teachers, which helped them achieve a lot both on academic level and ability of organization.
