On the morning of January 8, having been invited by Wang Yang, the associate professor from School of Management, Dr. Wang Haibo from Sanchez Business School in Texas A&M International University gave an academic report of “Using Big-Data Analytics for Hot Spots of Border Security” in the lecture hall of School of Management in NPU.
After introducing Dr. Wang’s resume briefly and extending the warm welcome to him by Wang Yang , Dr. Wang gave a report on his own hot spot discovery system of border area smuggling, which offered the crucial support in national security issues for the United States Department of Homeland Security, such as illegal immigrants and drug trafficking. At the end, Dr. Wang also introduced the disciplines, the core courses and the graduate employment in Sanchez Business School, especially focusing on the how to apply for the full scholarship of postgraduate students in Texas A&M International University. All the students present showed the strong interest and then had a heated discussion with Dr. Wang and their 16 students. Following the conference, both sides reached a cooperative intention on the student exchange program between two schools and discussed many possible international cooperative forms. NPU volunteers guided the group to visit the campus of NPU after the meeting.
